Cong denies holding parleys with Ajit Singh

Varanasi, Sep 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress today denied it had held any parleys with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh for a tie-up in the next assembly polls in the state.

''We have not spoken to Mr Singh or for that matter any other RLD leader,'' UPCC president Salman Khurshid told newspersons here.

''We are open to pre-poll alliance with like-minded parties, but they will have to approach us as we will not knock on their doors,'' he added.

Mr Khurshid alleged the ruling Samajwadi Party was openly violating the anti-defection law by adding MLAs from other parties in its fold.
