Chargesheet filed in arms haul case

Mumbai, Sep 4 (UNI) The prosecution today filed a 1500-page chargesheet in the MCOCA court here against sixteen people arrested by the Anti- Terrorist Squad sleuths from Aurangabad in May this year for possessing a huge cache of arms and ammunition.

The prosecution has filed the chargesheet against Mohammed Amir, Mohammed Zuber, Mohammed Muzafar Tanvir, Abdul Hasim Sheikh, Mustaq Ishaq, Javed Majid, Afzal Khan, Riaz Ramzan, Mohammed Sarif, Billar Razak, Sayed Zafaruddin and others.

All the arrested have been booked under the Arms act, MCOCA and Explosives Act.

The ATS sleuths had seized sixteen AK-47 rifles, 3200 live cartridges, 62 magazine, 43 kg of RDX and 50 hand granades.

The operation was conducted between May 9 and May 14 this year.

Chargesheet against a 17th accused, Firoz Deshmukh, was not filed today because he was arrested only recently and a supplementary chargesheet will be filed against him, assistant commissioner of police and investigating officer in the case D S Dhawale said.
