Army captain, two soldiers killed in encounter

Baramulla, Sep 4 (UNI) An Army captain and two soldiers were killed in an on-going fierce encounter at Attamulla village in Bandipora area of this north Kashmir district, official sources said.

The Sources said acting on a tip-off troops of 57 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a search operation last evening at Attamulla village in Bandipora area of north Kashmir.

They said during the operation, militants attacked the search party with automatic weapons and grenades. The fire was effectively retaliated, resulting in a fierce encounter.

The encounter was still on when reports last came in, the sources added.
