Aided teacher's hunger strike enters eighth day
Imphal, Sep 4 (UNI) The indefinite hunger strike since August 28 by the college teachers of Manipur under the aegis of All Manipur Government Aided College Teachers' Association (AMGACTA) entered the eighth day today.
The teachers have been demanding several facilities from the government.
The AMGACTA informed that the conditions of the teachers have deteriorated and about 67 of them have been arrested.
The teachers would continue the stir till their demands were fulfilled, AMGACTA said.
The Manipuri Students' Federation had also appealed to the government to immediately resolve the impasse as the strike had affected their academics.
