8 gamblers held, cash seized

Visakhapatnam, Sep 4 (UNI) The City Task Force Police raided a guest house at Pineapple Colony here last night and arrested eight persons on the charges of gambling besides seizing Rs 2.12 lakh cash.

Police today said the gamblers were businessmen and one of them was a film distributor who operated a private security agency.

In another case, police seized 145 quintals of rice meant for public distribution system (PDS) from a godown and arrested two persons in this connection.

The rice was being sold in the black market. It was later handed over to Civil Supplies Department officials.
