Bhopal, Sep 3 (UNI) Firing a broadside at the Centre's foreign policy, the CPI(M) today said the policy not only went against India's interest but also was being subjected to pressure from the US and other countries.

''The Government has turned a Nelson's eye on public interest issues and failed to implement the Women's Reservation Bill and a law for tribals. I support the JPC's recommendations for the latter,'' CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat told journalists here.

When asked about his party's role in forthcoming polls to four states, he said a decision would be taken in October.

To a question about support to the Mulayam Singh Yadav dispensation in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Karat said, ''Even his associate Ajit Singh is yet to take a decision in this regard. How can the Left parties disclose their strategy at this juncture?'' UNI AG-AC 1543
