Joseph issue not discussed: LDF

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 3 (UNI) The Left Democratic Front (LDF) today said the issue of Public Works Minister P J Joseph's alleged misbehaviour with a woman passenger on board a flight was not taken up at today's meeting.

The Kerala Congress (J) leaders had informed that they would not be able to attend the meeting because of some urgent matters, LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan told reporters after the meeting.

The self-financing colleges issue was the mainstay of the meeting, he said. The decisions taken in the last Front meeting on the issue were reviewed, he said added the admission procedure should be finalised at the earliest.

Noting the discussions between the government and the managements of these colleges were progressing, he said a consensus would be reached at very soon.

There were reports he LDF had met today to discuss the issue related to the Minister in the wake of the preliminary report of the probe into the allegations.

Inspector General B Sandhya, who was entrusted with the inquiry, handed over the report to the Home Secretary today.
