IMA memorandum to complete cleaning operations
Surat, Sept 3: Indian Medical Association (Surat chapter) has submitted a memorandum to Chief Relief Commissioner S R Rao, requesting him to speedily complete the cleaning operations in order to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases in the city in the aftermath of the recent floods.
In the memorandum, submitted here on friday the IMA also urged the authorities to conduct clinical and epidemological tests on the water to address the problem.
The Association also urged Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to undertake safe disposal of bio-medical waste and ensure cleaning of the city's drainage system.
IMA has started a free medical camp with the help of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Larsen and Toubro at Rander. The camp will continue for two weeks, sources added.
