Excise police seize rectified spirit, arrest one

Pondicherry,Sept 3(UNI)Pondicherry excise police today seized rectified spirit worth Rs.One lakh from a godown at Karayampathur near here early today.

According to excise sources, on a tip off a team headed by deputy collector Mr Anbazhagan, raided a godown in the wee hours and seized the spirit, packed in plastic cans.

Iyyanaar, the man who was guarding the godown, was also arrested.

Investigation is on to find out who owns the godown as well as the spirit.
