BJP Mahila Morcha denounces UPA

Raipur, Sep 3 (UNI) Denouncing the Centre's UPA regime as a failure on all fronts, a meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha National Working Committee remained restricted to the 'Hindutva' agenda.

On the gathering's final day today, Committee Member Mohini Garg tabled a political proposal and was supported by General Secretary Rakesh Sharma. The proposal passed by the Committee said the UPA failed to check inflation, corruption, terrorism, naxalism, infiltration and atrocities against women.

The document demanded a halt to vulgar depiction of the fairer sex on TV channels, the Internet and obscene pictures in mobile phones. The erstwhile NDA government was thanked for its gender-linked work, former premier Atal Bihari Vajpayee was given credit for declaration of 2001 as the Year of Women's Empowerment and for strengthening women SHGs.

''Conversion in southern states is a foreign conspiracy and a matter of concern. Communists working at China's behest are responsible for Nepal ceasing to be a Hindu kingdom. HRD Minister Arjun Singh is guilty of making 'Vande Mataram' controversial.

Reservation is a conspiracy to divide the country,'' the proposal said.

The Centre's weak policy is responsible for the ''dominance'' of Maoists in Nepal, infiltration into northeastern states, naxalism in Uttaranchal, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

''History is being distorted in the education sphere,'' the proposal alleged.
