APSRTC workers against plying 54 private buses
Tirupati, Sep 3 (UNI) The Joint Action Committee (JAC) compromising the representative of all major unions of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) workers today submitted memorandum to the District Collector S S Rawat demanding withdrawal of 54 private buses plying in the district.
According to union leaders if the move was not curbed, it would eventually result in about 300 regular workers of APSRTC losing their jobs.
The union called for a joint fight by all the three major RTC unions like NMU, EU and Staff-workers-Federation (SWF) to counter the move.
They also demanded immediate withdrawal of the controversial GO 94, which they alleged was being used as a tool by the government to privatise the RTC through back door methods.
