AP to up seed replacement rate to 100 per cent

Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI)The Andhra Pradesh Government is chalking out plans to improve seed replacement rate of all crops to 100 per cent in next three years, an official release here today said.

Contributing 20 per cent of agricultural exports and over three to four million tonnes of foodgrains every year to the national buffer stocks, the state would work out a proper 'technology transfer strategy' to popularise quality seeds.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would exhort agriculture scientists to come up with more innovative technologies for higher yields with minimum water utility, at the 38th convocation of Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University tomorrow.
