Three months' RI for SHO, constable
Shahdol, MP, Sep 2 (UNI) The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today sentenced a Station House Officer (SHO) and a constable to three months' rigorous imprisonment on the charge of assaulting and breaking the leg of a jawan in lock-up.
According to prosecution, SHO Parmeshwardin Urmalia and five constables, including Ramdarash Singh, caught Bodri village-resident jawan Shivprasad Tiwari on June 8, 1992, and beat him up brutally in lock-up.
A case was registered against the SHO on the basis of complaint by the jawan's wife.
CJM Deepesh Tiwari delivered the verdict. Four other accused were acquitted.
