Tata Motors posts 26 pc rise in vehicle sales

Mumbai, Sept 2: Tata Motors has posted a 26 per cent rise in vehicle sales for the month of August 2006 at 45,681 units as compared to 36,205 units in the same month last year.

A Tata Motors press release said today that sales of commercial vehicles rose 35 per cent to 23,069 units from 17,071 units, while sales of cars and utility vehicles rose 26 per cent to 17,541 units.

Exports of Tata Motors, whose scrips are also listed in New York Stock Exchange, declined by 3.5 per cent to 5,071 units from 5,256 units in August 2005.
