Suburban trains affected due to freak break down
Mumbai, Sept2 (UNI) Suburban trains plying on the western and harbour lines passing through Bandra railway station were affected after the 'Pentacraft' fitted above the engine of a long distance train broke off here at 1445 hours.
Railway officials said that the frequency of suburban trains have been slowed down to augment repair work on the stranded train.
The repair work is being done on a war footing by railway engineers and technical staff, and is expected to take an hour.
Normal train services would resume once the stranded train is moved aside, they added.
The Government Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force officials have ruled out sabotage, and dismiss the episode as a freak break down.
No injuries or casualties have been reported.
