Pratyush Sinha is new CVC
New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Mr Pratyush Sinha, a 1969 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, was today appointed as the new Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), official sources said.
Mr Sinha, who succeeds Mr P Shankar, had retired as Secretary (Personnel) in July this year.
The decision to appoint Mr Sinha as CVC, which has a four-year tenure, was taken at a meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Leader of Opposition L K Advani also attended the meeting, the sources added.
