MP gets respite from heavy rains
Bhopal, Sep 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh got respite from heavy rains, which lashed the state during the past three days.
Meteorological department director D P Dubey said the intensity of rainfall lessened as a low pressure area built near Gwalior was moving towards Uttar Pradesh.
However, clouds would return to the state within a week after a brief gap of three-four days because of a low pressure area developed over the Bay of Bengal.
The chief amounts of overnight rainfall were: Bhanpura (8 cm), Narsinghgahd (7), Guna (7), Rajgadh (6), Khurai (6), Mungawali (6), Athner (5), Vidisha (5), Datia (5), Morena (5), Lahar (5), Sironj (5), Shajapur (3), Gwalior (3), Ashoknagar (3), Bhind (3), Gohad (3), Dabra (3), Shujalpur (3) and Ganjabsauda (3).
Showers accompanied with lightning is expected at Sagar, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions in the next 24 hours.
