MP BJP to protest Centre's attitude towards flood relief
Bhopal, Sep 2 (UNI) People's representatives, belonging to the Madhya Pradesh BJP, will stage a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on September 6 against the lackadaisical attitude of the Centre for providing relief to the flood-affected people.
The decision was taken at BJP core advisory committee meeting, chaired by state party president Satyanarain Jatia.
During the meeting, members expressed concern over the Centre's apathetic attitude towards the ravaging flood, which claimed more than 140 lives besides heavy loss of crops, cattle life and property.
The meeting described Rs 100 crore interim relief as inadequate and alleged that the state was being discriminated in providing flood relief.
During the meeting, members said the Congress was politicising the death of a professor in Ujjain and trying to affect inquiry by creating doubt.
It was also decided to organise effective rendition of 'Vande Mataram' in all districts and divisions on September 7.
