JK Vigilance chargesheets ex-official for illegal appointments
Srinagar, Sep 2 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation has produced a chargesheet in an anti-corruption court here against an official who had appointed 42 people in ''illegal'' manner and in violation of rules, an official spokesman said today.
He said the chargesheet against Syed Mohammad Haji, a resident of Khumani Chowk, Bemina here, the then Administrator Notified Area Committee (NAC) Beeru Budgam was produced in the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption here.
The case was registered in October 2003 following a surprise check conducted by the Vigilance Organisation in the NAC Beeru office which prima-facie established that the accused had in violation of rules made illegal appointments of 42 people as Works Supervisors and Assistant Tax Collectors on consolidated basis.
In the course of investigations, he said the evidence came to fore with which the allegations were proved against the accused official who has already retired from the government service.
