Delhi Police SI arrested accepting bribe

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector was today caught by the CBI accepting a bribe from Hauz Khas area of South Delhi.

Sub-Inspector Ram Avtar Sharma, posted at Vasant Vihar police station, was caught accepting Rs 3,000 from the complainant, according to the CBI.

The SI had asked for the bribe to get an accused off from the Test Identification Parade (TIP) in a chain snatching case.

He was arrested accepting the bribe from the father of the accused in chain snatching case at the main gate of Police Colony in Hauz Khas this evening. Searches at his residence was being conducted, it added.
