CM's absence at Beant Singh's memorial haunts Congress
Chandigarh, Sep 2 (UNI) Punjab Congres chief S S Dullo today said Chief Minister Amarinder Singh should have attended the state level event organised to mark the 11th death anniversary of Beant Singh.
Mr Dullo said this at a press conference here while reacting to the media reports regarding Capt Singh's absence at the state level rally which was organised to commemorate the 11th death anniversary of late Chief Minister Beant Singh in Ludhiana district on August 31.
Capt Singh had also been unable to turn up for the prayer meeting at Beant Singh's 'samadhi'.
''I will not comment on why the Chief Minister was absent on both the occasions but, yes, he should have come in interest of the party,'' Mr Dullo said.
Mr Dullo agreed to the viewpoint that the party's image received a setback with Chief Minister's absence at the state level rally where thousands of people and party workers had gathered to pay tributes to the late leader.
