CCS reviews internal security
New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) As a precursor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's September 5 meeting with Chief Ministers on the issue of handling internal security, a select Cabinet Committee here tonight reviewed the whole gamut -- with a view to finalising a new look policy on fighting internal terrorism.
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) undertook a comprehensive review of Internal security -- in the backdrop of the Home Minister having renewed focus on improving intelligence gathering and sensitising states following the July 11 Mumbai blasts.
Briefing mediapersons immediately following the meeting-- presided over by the Prime Minister, Finance Minister P Chidamabaram said the CCS also approved a Rs 100 crore relief package for flood-hit Rajasthan.
