Al-Umma activist arrested
Chennai, Sep 2 (UNI) A special CB-CID team has arrested an Al-Umma activist, who had been evading the police dragnet in connection with the murder of three Hindu Munnani activists at the southern Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu in 1997.
Police sources told UNI that the activist, Razil Moideen, was evading arrest for the last nine years. He was arrested by the special team from the Choolaimedu area in the city last night.
Acting on specific intelligence, the team zeroed in on the accused, who was staying in a house, and effected the arrest.
He was being taken to a court at Tiruneveli for judicial remand.
