Tirupati, Sept 1 (UNI) Despite assurances from TTD Executive Officer A P V N Sarma that the demands of employees would be considered, about 15,000 of its work force today observed a relay fast in front of the TTD administrative office here pressing settlement of their long pending demands, mainly for house sites.

As part of the agitational programme of various TTD employee unions, they formed a United Struggle Committee (USC). About 300 employees had observed relay fast and raised slogans against the officials.

A TTD employee union leader Chinnamgari Ramana said the relay fast would continue tomorrow and further. The agitation would be intensified after September 12 if the officials would not respond positively, he added.

He warned that the eight convenors of the USC would observe indefinite hunger strike if the management would not agree to their demands before September 12 and he added that the relay fast would be continued till the demands were met.

Meanwhile, the management offered to provide apartment-type houses but the agitators rejected it and urged for house plots.
