Rupee ends flat at 46.52/53 per USD

Mumbai, Sept 1: The Indian currency today closed flat at Rs 46.52/53 per US dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.53/54 per US Dollar, as demand for Dollar grew and the Asian currencies weakened, money market trader here said.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.53 per USD as compared to the previous rate of Rs 46.55 per USD.

The six-month forward premia was fixed at 1.40 per cent and the one-year forward premia was also fixed high at 1.41 per cent.

Rupee performance against other currencies however was comparatively better, against Euro it was up at Rs 59.55(59.79) against Pound sterling it was up at Rs 88.45 (88.65), and against Yen it was up at Rs 39.62 (39.67).
