Rs 113 crore projects cleared by Expenditure Finance Committee
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) A proposal to procure 40 acres to set up a Rs 11.22 crore treatment, storage and disposal facility at Ghummanhera was cleared by Delhi Government's Expenditure Finance Committee today.
The decision follows a Supreme Court order to develop a site for treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous waste.
Finance and Planning Minister A K Walia, who chaired the meet, said the EFC also sanctioned Rs 92.86 crore for purchase of machinery and equipment for Institute of Biliary Science.
The proposed material would be purchased in phased manner as per need and it would be ensured that no equipment remains idle after commissioning of the Institute, he said.
The EFC has also given its nod to a proposal of the Department of Family Welfare for purchase of typhoid Vaccine and its related items worth Rs 1.28 crore which would help in bringing down morbidity and mortality resulting from typhoid fever in the age group of 2-5 years and reduction in hospital admission cases due to typhoid fever, he added.
A few projects of the PWD department were also cleared.
