Orissa govt effected major reshuffles in top slots

Bhubaneswar, 31 Aug (UNI) In an administrative reshuffle effected today, the Orissa Government replaced Suchit Das and appointed Amarananda Patnaik as the Director General of Police (DGP).

Mr Patnaik was Commandant General Homeguard and DGP (Fireservices).

Mr Das has been posted as Chairman of Orissa Public Service Commission.

The government also appointed Tarunkanti Mishra as the Home Secretary, who replaced Santosh Kumar. Mr Kumar has been posted as CMD-IDCOL.

Mr Mishra was the Revenue secretary.

Health secretary R N Senapathy was packed off to the finance department and Mr Chinmoy Basu appointed in his place.

Mr Arun Kumar Samantray, at present Principal Secretary to Government, Excise Department, was appointed as Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Orissa, Cuttack replacing Mr Tara Dutt who was shifted to SC/ST/Minorities development department.

The other top bureaucrats shuffled today were Mrs Rajalakshmi, Principal Secretary to Government, Commerce&Transport Department to the Science and Technology department while Priyabrata Patnaik takes her place.
