NABARD promoting integrated rural development

Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Sept 1 (UNI) NABARD was promoting integrated rural development by providing loans to agricultural and non-agricultural activities like handlooms and handicrafts, a senior NABARD Official Hussain said today.

Speaking at a programme ''Investment in UTI Savings Schemes'' organized in connection with Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign here, Mr Hussain said farmers were utilizing NABARD loans for digging borewells and agricultural wells, apart from taking up horticulture.

He said NABARD issued Kisan cards and introduced several credit programmes for the economic welfare of farmers.
