MoU signed by CUSAT and DRDO

Kochi, Sep 1 (UNI) A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the exchange of research and academic expertise.

A CUSAT release yesterday said here as per the MoU signed between CUSAT Chancellor P K Abdul Aziz and DRDO R and D Controller A Shivatanu Pillai, laboratories and technology centres would be set up at CUSAT in the fields of nano technology, hydrodynamics, transducers, sensors, structures, shock, vibrations and accoustics.

The officers and staff of CUSAT would be given training on need basis in continuing education programmes of DRDO represented by Naval Physical and Oceanographic Lab (NPOL) here, the release added.

The DRDO would provide consultancy services, assist and associate in research programme by the faculty and research scholars of CUSAT to attain research objectives of the NPOL.

The MoU would also facilitate to jointly execute engineering and technology related projects.

A review council comprising DRDO and CUSAT members would meet once in six months to gauge the progress of the agreement and it would also take necessary corrective measures for establishing excellence in technology, the release added.
