Lightning kills woman

Cuddalore, Sep 1 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman was killed when lightning struck her at Karappet village in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu this evening.

The deceased was identified as Ms A Godavari, police said.

The tragedy occurred when the woman was standing outside her house. She was taken to the Government General Hospital where doctors declared brought dead.

Heavy rain and strong wind lashed the district this evening.
