Lalu's DA case based only on IT report: Counsel

Patna, Sep 1 (UNI) The counsel for Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, today said Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against them was based only on the Income Tax (IT) departments report.

During final argument before special CBI judge Munilal Paswan, counsel Rana Pratap Singh said the wealth and income of his clients were not verified properly by the CBI during investigation of the case.

He said the returns submitted by his clients were accepted by the IT appealate tribunal.

IT department has not filed any petition against the judgement of IT appealate tribunal as yet, he submitted.

The next hearing in the case would be held on September 5.
