Jayaprakash Narayan resigns from NAC
Hyderabad, Sep 1 (UNI) Ahead of the launch of his party, Jayaprakash Narayan, founder of the apolitical Lok Satta, spearheading a movement against corruption and seeking electoral reforms, has resigned from the Prime Minister's National Advisory Council.
In his resignation letter to Dr Manmohan Singh, a copy of which was released to the press here today, Dr Narayan thanked the latter for providing an opportunity to work with the Government closely, and termed it a ''rewarding and fulfilling experience.'' However, the former bureaucrat, who decided to float a new political formation to spread the movement for political reforms, equitable growth, elimination of discrimination by birth, decentralisation and rule of law, said he wanted to continue his association with the Second Administrative Reforms Commission for a few more weeks to help finalize the report on civil services reform, public order, local governments and ethics in governance.
