GM registers 18 p c YTD
Chennai, Sep 1 (UNI) General Motors India has registered an 18 per cent yield-to-date (YTD) growth during January-August period in 2006, as compared to the same period last year.
The global auto major sold 24,027 units from January to August this year as against 20,322 cars in the same period in 2005 to record a growth of 18 per cent in sales. The August 2006 sales comprise 1706 units of Chevrolet Tavera, 312 units of Chevrolet Optra and 702 units of Chevrolet Aveo.
Despite production, dispatches and delivery getting affected due to floods in Gujarat and many other parts of the country, GM India has been able to register YTD growth of 18 per cent over the same period last year, a company release here said.
"The performance has been up to our expectations keeping in mind the unprecedented flood conditions in Gujarat and Maharashtra," said Mr P Balendran, Vice-President, General Motors India.
" With the growing portfolio of our Chevrolet brand of vehicles in India, we remain committed to bring value propositions for our customers," he added.
