Emmar group to foray into India

Dubai, Sep 1 (UNI) Dubai-based property developer Emaar, known for its iconic projects including Burj Dubai and the Dubai Mall, is now set to bring Armani Hotels to India.

The company is targeting India for bringing designer luxury brand Armani through its exclusive yet to open seven hotels and three vacation resorts in some of the snazziest cities of the world.

Spread over the next ten years, the project is backed by an investment of over 1 billion dollars from Emaar, a media statement said.

The company, Armani Hotels and Resorts, is mulling opening of the exclusive hotels either in Mumbai and Delhi. However, industry sources indicate Mumbai is Chairman's Mohammed Alabbar preferred destination.

The first hotel of the chain is expected to be opened by the first quarter of 2008 as part of Emaar Properties Burj Dubai development, which when completed is stated to be the world's tallest residential and commercial building.
