DVC signs MoU with BSNL to start DVCnet
Kolkata, Sept 1 (UNI) Damodar Valley Corporation today signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to start DVCnet, a network, to connect four thermal power plants with the Kolkata headquarters.
After signing the MoU here, Calcutta Telephones Chief General Manager Samar Chakrabarty said, ''Initially Bokaro, Chandrapura, Mejia, Maithon, Durgapur and Kolkata will be connected.'' The total project cost would be Rs 4.3 crore and offer other facilities like VOIP-IP phones, Video conferencing, ERP application etc.
DVC chairman Asim Burman said the project would also augment this network from six sites to its other units and offices after successful implementation of the project.
