A passenger with forged stamp on passport arrested

Kolkata, Sept 1 (UNI) A passenger was arrested today at NSCBI airport after arriving from Bankok with forged stamp of the Immigration authorities on her passport.

Ukila Ben Patel (47), along with another woman, had gone to Bankok from Mumbai on June 21 with Indian passport.

At Bankok, they procured another passport with US visas. But on arrival at USA, they were sent back to Bankok.

Thai authorities, after consultation with the Indian Consulate there, had sent them back to Kolkata with their original passports.

Kolkata Immigration authorities freed one woman but detained Ms Patel after they discovered forged immigration clearance stamp of NSCBI Airport on her passport.

After checking the records, the Immigration authority officials found no women called Ms Patel had passed through Kolkata on that date.
