London, Aug 31 (UNI) Still hoping for a recall to Team India, Zaheer Khan says he wants to continue playing for Worcestershire in the next season as good performances with the club might boost his chances of coming back to the national side.

''India are touring England for three months next season so that might be a factor. I am very hopeful of being recalled to the Indian side very soon. It will be down to my performances and that is in my hands,'' Zaheer told Sky Sports.

''Hopefully I can come back and play for the side in Division One of the County Championship,'' he added.

Zaheer, who was brought in as a replacement for Australian Nathan Bracken, has proved to be immensly successful for the club and has taken over 60 wickets this season.

However, he has not found favour with the Indian selectors and has been repeatedly left out of the national team. After the Worcs' expressed their desire to retain him for the next season, the medium pacer said he would be happy to stay with the club.

''Worcester is definitely a place I'd like to come back to next year. I've really enjoyed this season. The dressing room has been great and I have made a lot of new friends,'' he said.

''The ground here is also very beautiful and hopefully if things go well I might come back next year, I've not really had any discussions with the club so far and am just focusing on finishing the season on a good note,'' he added.

Worcestershire are currently placed third in the Division two table and have a chance to qualify for the first division.
