Union commerce minister to visit Mizoram tomorrow

Aizawl, Aug 31 (UNI) Union Minister of state for Trade and Commerce Jairam Ramesh is schedule to visit Mizoram towmorrow to attend the valedictory function of Public Information Campaign here launched last week.

Officials from state's Information and Public Relations Department said here today Mr Ramesh will also call on Chief Minister Zoramthanga and hold meeting on bilateral trade development with neghibouring Myanmar.

Officials also mentioned that the ministry of trade and commerce has emphasised on export-import issues between NE states and neighbouring Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Ministry held meeting with all the NE states representatives of commerce and industry department in Guwahati last month and drafted a comprehensive proposal on set up small scale industries and food processing units in the region, sources added.
