Temple idols stolen

Guna, MP, Aug 31 (UNI) An unidentified man today stole 11 idols -- Five 'Ashtdhatu' and six brass idols -- and worship material from Gopal temple at Rajogadh in this district, police said.

The theft comes merely two days after about six idols were stolen from Ramjanki temple by an unidentified man on the intervening night of August 27-28.

Although the priest had tried to lodge a complaint, police had refused. Yesterday, again an idol was stolen from a nearby temple.

Temple priest Charandas Bairagi said temple trust chairman and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has been informed about the matter. Following Mr Singh's intervention, police assured to lodge a FIR in the case.
