Speaker expunges defamatory remarks made by Cong, TDP MLAs

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today announced in the House that after examination of the records he had decided to expunge remarks made yesterday by a Congress member and a TDP member from the records.

Challa Rama Krishna Reddy (Cong) and TDP Deputy Leader T Devender Goud made personal allegations against each other, drawing the intervention of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu during a debate.

The Speaker, who said he would go through the records and give his ruling today, announced that after examination, he had decided to expunge remarks made by both the members which were defamatory.
