Separate board for schools in Naga dominated districts:Rio
Kohima, Aug 31 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has suggested a separate Secondary Education Board for the four Naga dominated districts of Manipur.
Mr Rio along with his delegates have gone to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi to discuss regarding the affiliation of all the private schools in these Naga dominated districts of Manipur.
However, Mr Rio had met Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh and reportedly suggested for a separate board for these four districts.
He also urged the HRD minister to consider the issue for the private schools of Senapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel districts in Manipur, where over fifty thousand students are waiting since long for the affiliation of Nagaland board.
The ministerial delegation, however, have informed that they are still waiting for an appointment with the Prime Minister.
