Pondy taking steps on compassionate ground jobs: CM

Pondicherry, Aug 31 (UNI) The Pondicherry administration is taking steps to clear the waiting list for appointments on compassionate grounds in the government departments, Chief Minister N Rangasmy told the Assembly today.

Replying to a special mention tabled by Leader of the Opposition A M H Nazeem during the Zero Hour, the Chief Minister said the government had taken steps for clearing such appointments pending for several years. As many as 350 persons had already been appointed and remaining would be accomodated.

Tabling the special mention, Mr Nazeem pointed out to the fast undertaken by a woman along with her two children before of the Assembly and said many others like her were waiting for appointment.

The agitations will become vigorous if the government failed to take proper steps to find an amicable solution, he warned.
