Petition seeking setting aside Chouhan's election quashed
Jabalpur, Aug 31 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today quashed a petition seeking setting aside of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's election from Budhni assembly constituency on charges of poll code violation and holding office of profit.
Hearing the petition filed by defeated Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel, Justice A K Saxena dismissed the petition, as it was not filed within time limit.
Mr Patel had filed a petition alleging misuse of government machinery and violation of the model code of conduct during Budhni bypoll.
The petition had claimed that Mr Chouhan headed state boards and corporations, besides holding the post of Chief Minister and as such his nomination for the by-election was invalid.
