Opposition stages rally in support to displaced persons
Hyderabad, August 31(UNI) Opposition TDP, CPI and CPI(M) today organised a rally in support of the demands of those whose lands were acquired by the state government for the proposed outer ring road.
The rally from the AV College was stopped by the police before it reached the Ambedkar statue, the culminating point, in view of the Assembly session and the prohibitory orders in force.
Police arrested the protestors who included displaced persons also.
The opposition parties sought that land for land or compensation as per the market value to the oustees.
The leaders alleged that the alignment of the outer ring road was being changed to avoid acquisition of the lands of influential persons and enhancement of the value of their lands.
The opposition leaders also demanded that jobs be provided to those, who lost livelihood due to acquisition of land.
