Maharashtra, TN start favourite in inter-state squash meet

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Defending champion Maharashtra is all set to get a good run for their money by formidable Tamil Nadu when the Senior Inter-State Squash Championship gets underway at the Gymkhana Club here tomorrow.

As many as 15 teams will lock horns for the coveted trophy in a round-robin format featuring four pools.

Every team will consist of four members, including a reserve player.

Top two teams from each pool will proceed for the semifinals on September 4, while the final is slated for September 5.

Maharashtra had a title hattrick from 2000-2002 and they added one more to their tally last year.

Tamil Nadu A, featuring Harinder Pal Singh and Parthivan, will be the team to look for, along with Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Begnal and Services.

Rohan Gracious of Maharashtra and Services' Vikas Jhangra will also add sheen to the event.
