Kochi, Aug 31 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today quashed the order of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) directing the state government to pay Rs ten lakh interim compansation to former ISRO scientist S Nambi Narayanan.

Justice K M Joseph asked the NHRC to consider the maintainability of the complaint filed by Mr Narayanan and to take a decision within four months.

The court issued the order on a writ petition filed by the state government challenging the order of the NHRC.

Mr Narayanan was arrested by Kerala police on November 30, 1994 in the ISRO espionage case.

Later, the CBI concluded that it was a false case and the Supreme Court accepted the CBI report.

It was after the apex court judgement that Nambi Narayanan moved the NHRC seeking compensation and action against the delinquent officers of police, IB and RAW.
