Health check-up for MLAs: Minister

Pondicherry, Aug 31 (UNI) The Pondicherry administration proposes to organise a comprehensive health check-up scheme exclusively for legislators and Parliament members of the union territory, Health Minister E Valsaraj told the Assembly today.

Making a suo-motu statement in the House during Zero Hour, the Minister said the exercise would be carried out in the next three months.

An index of vital health indicators would be clearly recorded after necessary investigations and check-up by specialists of the government general hospital here.

The records would be made available to the members and a copy will be maintained at the office of the medical superintendent and the deputy directors of the outlying regions.

Mr Valsaraj said the records will contain detailed report of the investigations taken up and the medical advice and medication, if any, prescribed for the individual.
