Goods trains derails near Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Aug 30 (UNI) Rail traffic on the busy Delhi-Jammu route was disrupted following derailment of a goods train near Suchchipind on the outskirts of the city tonight.

Railway and Police sources said seven wagons of a tanker goods train, heading for Jalandhar Cantt station were derailed near Suchchipind around 2200 hours blocking the tracks.

The railway authorities immediately swung into action to clear the tracks and the efforts were on.

Meanwhile, one stranded train Sealdah bound Jammu Sealdah Express was diverted via Amritsar even as several other long distance trains schedule was upset due to the mishap.
