Ekambaranathar Temple consecration held
Kancheepuram, Aug 31 (UNI) Lakhs of devotees today witnessed the 'kumbabhishekam' (consecration) of Sri Ekambaranathanar Temple here this morning.
The consecration was being held after a gap of 100 years. The repair and renovation work costing Rs three crore began about four years ago.
'Yagasala' poojas, 'homams' and 'mahapoornahuti' were held and the 18 'gopurams' (towers) consecrated. As many as 180 'Sivacharyas' (priests) performed the rituals.
Besides, 'abhishekam' was performed to the Sri Lingashwarar Sannidhi this morning. The ritual was being held after a gap of 25 years.
