CM review preparations for Dasara festivities

Mysore, Aug 31 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today reviewed the preparations for the world famous Dasara festivities which commences here September 23.

Speaking to reportes after the meetig, he said he had convened a high power committee meeting next week to ensure grand celebrations as this was the golden jubilee year of the state's formation.

"I will also discuss the conduct of Panchalinga Darshana, held once in 12 years, in Talakadu during the month of November," he said.

Referring to controversy over the sound and light programme in Mysore Palace, he said the governmenet would form a committee to review the programme. At the same time it would also discuss with the scion of the erstwhile Mysore royal family Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, who had raised the objections alleging that the royal family was shown disrespect by the organisers.
